ACTIVE and In Touch (A&IT), the Frome based charity which seeks to address loneliness and support people who feel isolated in Frome and the local villages has given a huge thanks to Frome Lions for their generous donation.
This arose from a recent sponsored swim, organised by Frome Lions and undertaken by about a dozen teams, including the Active and In Touch swimming team comprising Jackie, Carol, Tina, Morag and Jude, who raised about £1,000.
Volunteer, Patricia Baker said, “Each of the other teams added to this by very generously donating half of the amount they raised to A&IT, keeping the remainder for charities of their own choice. Frome Lions then raised this amount to an amazing £4,000!
“On behalf of the members, volunteers, staff and trustees a huge vote of thanks goes to Frome Lions, especially to Greg Wood, the sponsored swim organiser and Richard Phillips, the incoming president in anticipation of the increased support and change which will be facilitated for A&IT by the Lions’ donation.
