A FROME actress and producer, Kayleigh-Paige Rees, has been nominated as Best Producer at the ninth annual National Film Awards and she needs your votes to be crowned the winner.
Kayleigh-Paige will be battling it out with Idris Elba for the Best Producer award, and on top of this, her series Keep Calm & Carry On has also been nominated for Best Comedy alongside Hollywood hits such as The Menu and What’s Love Got To Do With It.
The National Film Awards will take place on Monday 3rd July at the prestigious Porchester Hall in London.
Hard work and commitment
Kayleigh-Paige lives in Frome and founded her production company, Raspberry Films, in 2019 and was named one of Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2022.
She says that the nominations are the result of lots of hard work and commitment. “I put so much blood, sweat and tears into the series that I had all fingers and toes crossed that it would get nominated,” she explained.
Hard work and commitment
“When the Best Comedy nomination came through, I was so relieved and excited that all the team could enjoy this nomination and feel rewarded for their hard work.
“For the second nomination, I never ever imagined I would get nominated for Best Producer, I did have a little tear and was just so excited! It’s nice to have recognition which represents just how far I’ve come.
“I can’t say that I would never imagine one day being up for awards alongside stars such as Idris Elba, because without being stupidly driven or a dreamer, then I would never have achieved anything in this industry!
“Obviously, it’s completely nuts that I’m up for an award alongside these stars but this is what I’ve been working hard for and want to continue doing.
“There’s a pressure with what I do to constantly prove yourself or show people what you can do, and these moments prove to me that I’m capable of continuing to do that.
Every vote counts!
“It would mean the world if readers could vote for me; every vote is so important!”
