Steiner Academy is holding an Advent Fair on Saturday 18th November in Park Road, Frome.
Doors open, with free entry, from 11am until 4pm. The Steiner Advent Fair is organised by parents of the school each year as a gift to the community. Organiser Siera Scillitoe-Morris said, “At the school you will be warmly welcomed, in from the chil, to experience delicious hot food, home-made cakes, yummy winter waffles and fabulous craft activities against the backdrop of a festive seasonally-decorated building.
“The artisan market traders will be selling their beautifully hand-crafted wares– a great opportunity to browse and buy unique Christmas presents from over 30 stalls in Chantry Hall. Some very special classical and folk live musicians are performing and the parent and children’s choirs will be raising the roof of Auriol Hall.
“Beeswax candle dipping and traditional wreath-making are a lovely advent presence. Wonderful children’s craft activities such as gingerbread decorating and natural potion making (perfect for Christmas gifts) will be in craft alley. There is the ‘children only’ shop to visit and the lucky dip wizard can be found wandering amongst the stalls and halls! Authentic storytelling in the Kindergartens, a children’s advent experience (top secret), circus workshops and perhaps the mysterious, magical King Winter will visit this year!
“At 3pm the raffle will be announced with incredible prizes; many of which are donated by local Frome businesses.
“Each year the entire school pulls together to bring this wonderful seasonal event to the community of Frome. It’s a great fundraising effort and there’s so much for adults and children alike to do, taste and experience as well as fantastic entertainment.
“So do go along for a touch of festive spice and experience the warm heart of the day – the seasonal calendar wouldn’t be complete without a trip to this beautiful community advent fair!”
