LOCAL musician Carol Foster hosted a launch event at 23 Bath St on Thursday 14th July for her album ‘Coming Home’.
The evening was dedicated to the memory of her close friend, We Hear You (WHY) founder Jill Miller and raised more than £850 for the charity.
Guests made a donation on entry and bought copies of the album, with further money raised in donation buckets at the venue and donated by Carol from the album’s online sales prior to the launch. The event raised £854, which will support We Hear You’s free counselling and emotional support for people affected or bereaved by cancer and life-threatening conditions.
WHY’s fundraising manager, Ruth Knagg, said, “What a wonderful evening listening to fabulous music and celebrating the life of our founder Jill Miller. Jill was an incredible human being: clever, funny, creative – all things you could also say of her good friend Carol.
“It was lovely to have Jill’s daughter Kym with us for the launch, too. We’re absolutely delighted with the money raised and after a tough couple of years it feels fantastic to be back out in the community, raising money for our services, which have never been more in demand.”
