FROME Amnesty Group is hosting ‘Write for Rights’ card-signing sessions to show solidarity to people whose human rights are being abused.
Judy Hosegood from the group says, “Every year at this time, when many of us are thinking about sending Christmas cards to friends and relatives, Amnesty asks people to send a card expressing solidarity with someone whose human rights are being abused.
“It only takes a minute to sign a card, but the impact on the person receiving it, and sometimes on the authorities behind the abuse, can be very significant.
“Frome Amnesty Group have organised three ‘Write for Rights’ card-signing sessions. They will take place on Saturday 1st December 10am-12pm at Wesley Methodist Church, Wesley Slope, (refreshments available); Saturday 8th December 9am-1pm at the Farmers’ Market, Cheese and Grain.
“All are welcome to call in to any of these events to sign a card, or three! Cards and all other details will be provided. Donations will be gratefully accepted towards postage.”
