Orchardleigh Golf Club Ladies competed in another of their annual competitions, the Val Stringer Cup, on Thursday 29th June.
This is played in drawn teams of three in a bowmaker format with the two top scores to count on full handicap.
The field of five teams had an enjoyable round in sunny conditions with the course playing well and plenty of run on the ball.
The victorious team, consisting of Anne Regler, Pat Pitt and Jan Light, came in with 90 points, several ahead of the runners-up, Loes de Kleuver, Carol Jenkin and Pat Jones, who brought in 83 points.
Recent match results for the Orchardleigh Ladies have not been as good as hoped. In the Bristol and District Alliance league they lost away to Bath B 3/11 and away to Thornbury B 5/9. In the Somerset Interclub it was a loss at home to Wedmore 2.5/4.5 away to Long Sutton 2/5 and at home to Wells 3/4.
