To celebrate the Queen and Prince Philip’s 70th wedding anniversary in November this year, Mendip District Council is calling for local couples also celebrating their Platinum wedding anniversary in 2017 to come forward and celebrate.
Cllr Edward Drewe, chair of Mendip District Council said, “We would like to recognise the Queen and Prince Philip’s special anniversary by offering residents of Mendip who are also celebrating their Platinum wedding anniversary a special gift.
“If you, or someone you know, were married in 1947 and are still together today, then please get in contact so we can help you celebrate this special day.”
