SOMERSET artist Mel Sewell is holding an art exhibition at Frome’s Silk Mill until next Friday.
The work is inspired by Iceland and is a portfolio of black and white photographs, acrylic paintings, Haiku poetry and 3d aluminium installation.
Mel says, “This work is the result of my recent visits to the land of fire and ice. The photographic work was exhibited at the Embassy of Iceland in Knightsbridge 18 months ago and was the material used for my two books ICE LAND WATER, Icelandscapes/ Íslandslag and my promo- magazine ‘Ed’.
“The 3d and acrylic work is all relatively new and fits into the category of abstract expressionism, and I’ll be on hand to give further insight into the beautiful, haunting landscapes of Iceland, as well as my personal experiences.”
The exhibition will be open until Friday 30th September at the Silk Mill.
