Fundraising for the Scouts and Explorers from Frome, who have been selected to represent Somerset at the World Scout Jamboree this July in America, continued all the way up to Christmas with bag packing at the Radco store in Radstock on Christmas Eve.
Customers of the store were really in the Christmas spirit when it came to donations, with a total raised on the day exceeding £830.
Explorer Jessica Lee said, “Everybody was really friendly and we are so grateful for the generosity of the customers of Radco, this really has helped with our fundraising.
“Special thanks also goes to the Radstock Co-op for allowing us to bag pack on Christmas Eve, we really appreciate their continued support.”
With the start of the New Year, the focus is now on selling tickets for a raffle, with top prizes including a 2-night retreat in a cosy cottage in Devon, worth over £200, day passes to Center Parcs, Longleat, and a photograph of members of Coronation Street, signed by some of the cast, plus other exciting prizes, kindly donated by Whitstone’s Fish and Chips, Shepton Mallet, Asda and the Memorial Theatre, which are now on sale, with the draw taking place at Easter.
If anybody would like to buy raffle tickets, the group can be contacted via the email fromewsj.2019@gmail.com.
