THE Barnardo’s stores in Frome are asking residents to donate their pre-loved winter woollies in order to raise funds for vulnerable children.
Stocks of clothes such as coats, jumpers and scarves are selling fast as the weather turns colder.
Therefore the stores in Kingsway Precinct and Forest Road Parade, off Stonebridge Drive, are keen to receive more winter clothing for both adults and children.
Sher Wilkinson, manager of the Kingsway Precinct store said, “We really need people to look inside their wardrobes and dig out any good-quality coats, jumpers, and winter warmers that they haven’t worn for a while. This also includes boots, gloves, hats and other items.
“We’d also welcome any accessories, toys, books and bric-a-brac to restock our shelves.
“Not only does the money raised help to fund our work with disadvantaged and vulnerable children, but our stores also give local families the opportunity to buy clothes and presents for Christmas at an affordable price.”
The Frome stores are open Monday-Saturday from 9am-5.30pm and on Sundays from 10am-4pm.
Potential volunteers are also welcome.
Last year Barnardo’s supported more than 272,000 children, young people and families through more than 1,000 services across the UK.
