BATCOMBE Film Society will be screening ‘The Shape of Water’ on Friday 9th November at the Jubilee Hall.
The 2018 Oscar-winning ‘Best Picture’ is an other-worldly fantasy with references to vintage monster movies and Beauty and the Beast.
Sally Hawkins plays Elisa, a mute with few friends who works as a cleaner in a secret military research laboratory. Her life changes when she and colleague Zelda discover a highly classified experiment and she forges an intimate relationship with the captured fish-man.
The film is a real visual and cinematic experience, a mix of cold war spy thriller, heist movie and romantic comedy.
