A CHARITY gig, which is planned for the Cheese and Grain this month, will appeal to all fans of rock, blues and rock’n’roll music, whilst raising money for the local Wessex MS Therapy Centre in Warminster.
Organiser Nick Giles said, “Irish guitar shredmeister Bernie Tormé is coming to Frome on Thursday 28th October as part of his new ‘Blackheart’ album tour. Just in case you do not know Bernie is literally a living legend, having played for Ian Gillan, Ozzy Osbourne (standing in with Ozz in the immediate aftermath of legendary guitarist Randy Rhoad’s tragic death), Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider, and Atomic Rooster, as well as his own projects Tormé (with LA Guns singer Phil Lewis), Electric Gypsies, and GMT and much more.
‘Blackheart’ has been funded by another highly successful pledge music campaign and as a pledger myself I can let you know that ‘Blackheart’ is a truly outstanding piece of work which covers all of the aspects of blues and psychedelic blues in typical Tormé style.
“Both Bernie and also the support band, Bite The Buffalo, will be kindly donating all of the proceeds from this gig to the Wessex MS Therapy Centre in Warminster. The centre provides therapies, information and practical and emotional support for people with multiple sclerosis, their carers and their families. They provide a comfortable and friendly environment from which they provide symptom management promoting independence and helping towards quality of life. The Wessex MS Centre provides long term, individual support.
“Local legends Bite The Buffalo will be supporting Bernie Tormé at this event. These two brothers are based in Bath and have been honing their mojos with stunning results for some while now. Their unique form of fuzz laden rock’n’roll and coffin blues has gained them much respect and admiration internationally. These two brothers play a live set which is simply phenomenal. This has gained them a great deal of interest and support from the likes of BBC Introducing and much more.
“In 2013 Bite The Buffalo released their superb debut album ‘Blue Lips’. The band has just completed a long run of festival dates and are now finalising work on their second album, which is sounding bigger than ever and will be released this year.
“Who knows, this event may even turn out to be an album launch gig for both Bernie Tormé and also Bite The Buffalo!
“Please do give your ears a treat while helping a very worthy cause by coming along to this fantastic gig. Tickets are priced at £14.50 and are available from the venue itself, www.cheeseandgrain.com or call 01373 455420.”
