PREPARATIONS for this year’s Frome Big Christmas Get Together are gathering pace – but there is still time to volunteer to help out or donate items for the festive hampers.
Organisers say, “As we enter December, we are starting to make the final preparations for the 11th Frome Big Christmas Get Together. We want to thank everyone who has kindly offered to help or donate items for this year’s event.
“Following on from the success of last year’s hampers, this year we will continue to provide people with a Christmas lunch hamper. This hamper will include a Christmas meal, gift and festive treats. These will be available on Christmas Day for collection from three venues in Frome, where light festive refreshments will also be served.
“We are extremely grateful to everyone who has signed up to volunteer so far. We do still have spaces for volunteer drivers to help deliver hampers to community members on Christmas Day. If you are interested in taking part and signing up as a delivery driver, please contact us.
“We are also looking for donations for the hampers including, savoury cracker biscuits, chutney and Christmas cards. If you are a local business and you can help us with these needs please do email us.
“This year we are partnering with Fair Frome, who are collecting donations for our hampers. Find their list of needs on their Facebook page.
“If you are a community organisation and you know someone who would like company and lunch on Christmas Day, please get in touch and let us know about them.”
