Frome actress and producer, Kayleigh-Paige Rees, has won the Best Producer award at this year’s National Film Awards – beating Hollywood stars such as Idris Elba for the coveted prize!
Kayleigh-Paige lives in Frome and founded her production company, Raspberry Films, in 2019 and was named one of Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2022. Her latest achievement saw her collecting a national award for her role as producer on her TV mini-series, Keep Calm & Carry On.
The Best Producer award was decided by a public vote and Kayleigh-Paige has thanked everyone who helped her to win the award. “I truly didn’t think I had a chance of winning,” she said. “The fact it was a public vote and being nominated amongst Hollywood projects and popular figures, it just shows the support I have, and I feel so thankful to everyone who voted for me. I definitely let all my excitement out in my speech!
“I was so excited to be there with some of our cast and crew, seeing fellow creatives and meeting new ones, it was such a special evening! I met some incredible people and left feeling very inspired. A bonus was being able to take my fiancé Kieran, who was introduced to sports presenter and former footballer, Chris Kamara, (hopefully scored some points on that one!)”
Keep Calm & Carry On is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video. The series follows three different but connected families deal with the ups and downs of family life as they try to push through the gruelling year of 2020. A documentary crew followed the three households through the ups and downs of the year.
Kayleigh-Paige’s next plans will see her returning to Ukraine to film a documentary about displaced families from the war and she will be producing in Los Angeles for the first time next year.
