An arts centre in Frome will continue its 40th anniversary celebrations with a fundraising exhibition showcasing 40 artworks donated by 40 artists.
MAGIS XL will take place in the Round Tower from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th September, open daily from 10am to 4pm. There will also be a preview evening on Friday 11th September from 6pm to 8pm, which is open to all.
The exhibition follows the success of April’s THINK XL, when artists donated artwork to raise funds for the centre.

Initially, a single exhibition was planned, but with two-thirds of the artworks sold, word spread and more artists offered to donate their work. By mid-May, plans for a second exhibition were underway.
MAGIS XL will feature ceramics, collage, drawings, glasswork, paintings, photographs, sculpture and textiles by Frome-based and regional artists, many of whom are nationally and internationally recognised in their fields. Donations include works by Christopher Bucklow, Ian Marlow MRSS, Bruce Munro, Sandra Porter RWA, Alex Relph and Patricia Volk FRSS.
Artworks are priced between £40 and £4,440, with 100% of sales benefiting the centre. Organisers aim to more than double the £3,000 raised during April’s THINK XL exhibition. All funds will help secure the future of the long-established visual arts venue.
