A new course is being launched next year designed to help people take their first steps towards turning their business ideas into reality.
The hands-on programme Enterprising Together, delivered by Edventure, gives participants the tools, skills and knowledge to make practical progress in starting their own enterprise, supported by a community of others doing the same.
Enrolment is now open for the course, which will run on Fridays from 9.15am to 2.45pm at the Edventure Hub in Frome. It begins on 16th January 2026 and continues until 12th June 2026, excluding 20th February, 3rd, 10th, 17th April and 29th May.
The course is open to everyone, regardless of background or experience.
James Wallis from Edventure said, “All you need for this course is curiosity, motivation and a business idea you’d like to explore. Unlike some business courses that focus on theory, Enterprising Together is all about hands-on learning. You’ll take the plunge, start developing and testing your ideas, and find out what really has legs, alongside others doing the same.”
Building on this practical approach and guided by Edventure’s experienced facilitators, participants learn and apply tools to develop and test their business ideas, while gaining essential skills in business planning, financial management and branding. Each week provides opportunities to make real progress, share experiences within a supportive community, and reflect on the direction of their business and personal goals.
Participants on Edventure’s courses have gone on to turn their ideas into real ventures. For example, Alex, a current course participant, is developing her hot sauce brand, HotSteppa Sauce, using foraged ingredients. Another recent graduate launched their own facilitation training, while one past participant co-founded Loop Frome.
Enterprising Together is free for Somerset residents (excluding BANES) with incomes below £25,000, or for those who meet other priority criteria for support, thanks to funding from Somerset Council. The course is also open to anyone aged 18 and over at a cost of £880.
By the end of the course, participants will have shaped and tested their ideas, developed practical business and financial planning skills, and built the confidence to take their next steps. They will also leave with momentum and the ongoing support of a like-minded community.
Edventure Frome is a local non-profit that helps people make their ideas real. It initiates and supports community enterprises, action groups, and partnerships that create positive change.
Spaces are limited, and Edventure courses are often popular, so early application is encouraged. To find out more or to enrol, visit edventurefrome.org/enterprising-together
