An evening of authentic Cuban music is coming to Frome in July as part of the Frome Festival.
Buena Bristol Social Club, a collaboration of top Cuban and Bristol-based musicians in the Latin music scene, will be appearing at the Cheese & Grain on Wednesday 8th July.
The band’s music is a blend of traditional Cuban rhythms, jazz and folk, with a unique Bristol twist. They have a wide range of musical influences, from the classic Buena Vista Social Club to modern Latin American music, and their performances are always high-energy and engaging.
“The event will be celebration of the music and culture of Cuba, brought to life by a group of talented musicians who are passionate about sharing this music with the world,” said the show’s promoter, Good Shout Events.
“The Buena Bristol Social Club is a testament to the enduring spirit and essence of the Buena Vista tradition, skillfully brought to life by a talented ensemble under the guidance of Michel Padron who has carefully crafted a band that faithfully preserves this distinctive sound.”
Support on the night will be from DJ Kam Cuba – a Cuban born/Frome residing DJ and producer who specialises in Afro-Cuban electronic music, blending rich traditional rhythms with contemporary sounds.
