
After a brilliant 20th anniversary year celebrating with Fat Boy Slim, Toots and the Maytals and many other top names in music and comedy, The Cheese & Grain says 2019 is set to be another fabulous year! Early 2019 is already absolutely packed and is the busiest spring ever and a host of big names are already lined up for this year.
“Some of the upcoming highlights from January to April include From the Jam with Bruce Foxton, T-Rextasy, Whole Lotta Led, The Love Ball Drag Night, Lau, Bootleg Blondie, Hayseed Dixie, The South, S-Club and 5ive, 90’s Rave, Huey Morgan, Oye Santana, Fleetwood Bac, Danny Dorling, Limehouse Lizzy and soul legend Ruby Turner,” says Tracey Rawlins, marketing manager at the Cheese & Grain. “Frome Voices and Frome Symphony will also feature, with their exciting classical programme.
“Special events include a two-day Model Railway Exhibition, return of the Vegan Market, the ever popular Seed Swap Potato Day, Quiz Nights, Record Fair, Ukulele Festival, a new Book Fair event and the International Women’s Day festival, a brand new event for 2019.

“Later in the season we welcome Saba Douglas Hamilton with a talk on Elephants, The Wurzels, Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Sharron Shannon, Martin Kemp, a three-day Blues Festival, Gaz Coombes, Frome Gin Festival and the return of the Dog Show as well as Ben Elton.
“The Tower Studio project will continue to develop and will be available to hire for rehearsal space.
“The Cheese & Grain is a registered charity and not-for-profit social enterprise and is used by many community groups.
“The charity bingo every Monday raises funds for POD, Roller Disco every Wednesday, free Roots Music sessions every Wednesday evening, community markets such as Wednesday Flea Market and Thursday Country Market, Somerset Farmers’ Markets, Healthy Mondays, Frome Community Education, computer skills training sessions, mixed martial arts, Mojo Moves, Rock Choir and so much more.
