A COLLABORATION between Edventure and Frome District Chamber of Commerce has resulted in a new initiative to bring back business breakfasts, where local business owners can gather, eat food and share ideas.
The inaugral business breakfast is due to take place on Thursday 24th November at Frome’s Welshmill Hub. The team are planning on organising more in the coming months.
For the events, organisers say “Doors open at 7.15am and breakfast is served at just after 7.30am. A delicious, vegetarian cooked breakfast and lots of coffee is provided. There is also an opportunity, after eating, to explore how businesses can support each other and the town.
“In these times of enormous volatility and impending hardship, it is important to have a thriving, supportive and engaged business community. Businesses can both help each other and provide resources, support and jobs to the community at large.
“We are keen to bring together businesses old, young, large, small, quirky and traditional and provide opportunities for exploring ways all businesses, including sole traders, makers, artists and service providers, can find ways to give each other support and inspiration.
“Questions will be discussed at the breakfasts to determine how best businesses can support each other in Frome. For example; What can we do to sustain a resilient business community? Are there ways to share resources, marketing and purchasing costs, and provide advice and support to each other? And how can we play our part in the life of Frome?
“By having these networks available, Frome gets the benefit of a fabulous, enterprising town. Locals reap the rewards of having access to a supportive community and Businesses get to explore opportunities for collaborative working. It is an all-round win.
“Edventure has a particular interest in supporting community-minded entrepreneurs to start up new ventures and to build a community to help such ventures thrive and grow. Edventure has been the foundation for local social enterprises to emerge such as Share: Frome and The Community Fridge. Furthermore, their work with kickstart connected young people with 52 different businesses.
“Frome and District Chamber of Commerce has been representing and supporting local businesses for many years.
“The business breakfasts will take place at The Welsh Mill Hub, Park Hill Drive, Frome, BA11 2LE and further dates will be organised soon.
