Local resident Katherine Marsh recently hosted a ‘cake break’ at her house in Frome which raised £1,157.65 for the Wessex MS Therapy Centre.
Her annual cake break has become a popular tradition in the town with people coming together to enjoy tea and cake to raise money for local good causes.
This year’s choice was to support the Wessex MS Therapy Centre which provides support and therapies to people affected by multiple sclerosis in the local area.
“That’s my best year ever!”, said Katherine when the grand total raised was revealed.
“We couldn’t think of a nicer way to raise some money,” commented community fundraiser for the centre, Amanda Strong. “Katherine’s initiative perfectly encapsulates the spirit of community and generosity that defines our organisation. The money raised will enable the centre to continue its vital work, providing support and therapies to individuals affected by multiple sclerosis.
“To everyone who contributed, whether through donations, attendance, or simply spreading the word, your generosity is truly commendable. You are all amazing, and your support will make a difference to the members of the Wessex MS Therapy Centre.”
