THE Enterprise Players will be taking over the Merlin Theatre next week with their new play ‘California Surfin.’’
Audience members can look forward to an entertaining tale about two rival gangs who arrive on a beach in California for a surfing competition, interwoven with a poignant story about an underdog who becomes a hero.
The Enterprise Players are a group of people with learning difficulties and physical disabilities from the Frome and Shepton Mallet area, who meet weekly at a drama group held at Frome Football Club.
‘California Surfin’’ is a multi-media production combining live-action on the stage, with film of the characters swimming, surfing and riding motorbikes.
The group says, “None of this would be possible if it wasn’t for the generosity of the football club at Badgers Hill, who let the Players use their premises every Tuesday morning.”
The Enterprise Players take to the stage at the Merlin Theatre on Tuesday 24th July at 2pm. Entry costs £4.
