Frome Town Council’s electric vehicle event took place at the Cheese and Grain on Sunday 12th November, followed by an exciting Electric Pedals cycle cinema, organised by Frome’s Missing Links and funded by Frome Town Council through participatory budgeting.
The ‘showroom’ was busy all day with people who were interested in the new generation of vehicles. The FTC ranger vehicles were there, along with the Tesla Roadster, an electric quad bike and a huge selection of electric bicycles. Lots of people signed up for the E-car club, after seeing the Renault Zoe up close, available to collect and drop off from the Town Hall.
Frome Town Council’s electric bikes were also there; they are available to loan from Cycology in the town centre, and now at a reduced rate of £5 for half a day or £10 for a whole day. They provide great support up those tough Frome hills.
Councillor Rich Ackroyd said, “Thank you to everybody who came along to the event, to those who donated to Frome’s Missing Links and those who arrived in their own electric vehicles. It was another step towards making Frome a greener and cleaner place to live. Finally, a special thank you to 13-year-old car enthusiast, Thomas Exton, who spent all day giving others a better insight into electric cars, and was the last one pedalling away at the cinema.”
