A creative writing workshop for late-diagnosed neurodivergent adults is running at the Cheese and Grain this month.
The workshop will be led by Frome resident Dr Kate Fox, a BBC Radio 4 presenter, stand-up poet and performer, along with Dr Helen Kara, a writer, teacher and speaker. It will take place on Thursday 24th September.
Kate and Helen will include prose and poetry, fiction and non-fiction, dialogue and opportunities to incorporate drawing or images for those who wish.

They are also likely to explore neurodivergent forms, including the Japanese genre of zuihitsu, language as stimming, the links between biodiversity and neurodiversity, neuroqueering forms, and neurodivergent self-acceptance through creative writing and reading.
The event will run from 10am to 4.30pm. It is supported by Arts Council England, enabling Helen and Kate to subsidise the cost of places and offer them on a sliding scale, with attendees able to decide how much they can pay between £30 and £60.
Attendees must be 18 or over and be able to write in English, but do not need specific writing experience or skills. To book, scan the QR code or contact ahappyplace.enquiries@gmail.com for more information.
