FROME Carnival’s Fun Day has been hailed a success by organisers.
The event, to raise money for the town’s carnival, was held last weekend in Victoria Park featuring performances from local groups, a dog show, fun fair rides, and numerous stalls.
The event also saw the return of carnival royalty selection, alongside the selection of carnival ambassadors.
The senior carnival ambassador for this year is Kathryn Strange, and the junior ambassador is Jessica Cook. The carnival princesses chosen were Ella Louise Robbins, Megan Wells, and Scarlet Jones. Carnival prince is Ashton Bishop. Frome Carnival’s gran is Carolyn Clements.
Carnival committee member Emily Denne told Frome Times, “We are incredibly pleased with this year’s carnival fun day. We believe that we have beaten our previous fundraising record – hopefully this will be confirmed in the coming days.
“The carnival ambassador and royalty selection event saw more participants than we have seen in a number of years.
“The dog show was also hugely popular – a big thank you to Bellevue Vets for their sponsorship.”
