AS the carnival fast approaches, the committee visited companies in Frome who have generously made donations to the event. The winner of this year’s design the programme competition was also announced.
Committee member Sharon Scott, carnival chairman June Barnes and ambassadors Emma Smith and Jess Cook visited carnival sponsors Frome Mini buses and Kevin Corcoran Carpets on Wednesday 15th August to receive £500 from each, as a donation towards this year’s procession.
They also visited Garston Vets, who sponsor this year’s carnival programme, to announce the winner of this year’s ‘design the programme’ competition.
Earlier this month, Garston Vets sent out a plea to schoolchildren to get creative and draw a picture of what they like most about the Frome carnival, to be in with the chance of being the front cover of the programme this year.
This year the winner was Ella Cornford who received a special prize, as well as her design being on the cover that will be seen by thousands across the town.
This year’s carnival will be on Saturday 22nd September. For more information including times, routes and more visit the website http://www.frome carnival.org.uk
