Frome will be ready to celebrate World Kindness Day next week with a special evening at the Silk Mill organised by The Good Heart.
The evening, due to be held on Wednesday 13th November, is open to everyone with an interest in kindness and the benefits it brings and will include a briefing about the exciting plans coming together for the fourth annual Frome Kindness Festival, which will take place next year from 15th to 22nd March.
“In a world where you can be anything, be kind,” says director of The Good Heart, Alison Murdoch. “At our special Kindness event, there will be an autumnal supper of soup, mulled cider and baked apples; how to get involved with the 2025 Kindness Festival as a volunteer or participant; a light-hearted Kindness Quiz; and (weather permitting) sparklers, candles and a fire pit plus live music from local musician Vicki Burke”
It will take place from 7pm to 9pm and the organisers are asking for a donation of £1 to £6 towards costs. For more information and to book a place, go to www.thegoodheart.uk
Over the winter, The Good Heart is also launching a new community table in the main cafe space for anyone in need of some company and conversation. They are looking for a team of volunteers who would enjoy helping to host this. The community table will be open during cafe opening hours and a free lunch will be provided for all volunteers. More information will be available at the soup and sparklers event, or you can contact welcome@thegoodheart.uk
“With everything that is going on in the world, we need kindness more than ever,” says Jess Francombe, one of the organisers. “Please join us!”
