THE biennial charity cricket match returns to Frome Cricket Club this Sunday 20th August, featuring Frome’s Pub CC v Julian Seviour’s Wanderers team.
Clive Carver says, “This will be the fourth encounter played between these sides, with the Wanderers holding a 2-1 lead.
“Following on from previous matches that raised funds for Macmillan, the Fire Fighters Charity, Time Is Precious and Lifetime Children’s Trust, this year’s match will be sponsored, played and supported to enable us to raise funds for Dorothy House Hospice Care (in memory of Rod Seviour).
“MC Paul Starr will supply the T20-style music and commentary, with many laughs throughout the afternoon. A barbecue and raffle, with many donated prizes will help boost our fundraising efforts. With a formidable list of local sponsors, each donating money or goods, we aim to beat previous totals to push our accumulated fundraising past the £8,000 mark.
“With players assembling by the bar at 1pm, the match will start at 2pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy an afternoon of cricket and fun.”
