TWO friends of Maddie and Libby North, the two Frome sisters who died following a road collision on the A361 Frome bypass last year, are planning to complete a charity skydive in their memory, in June.
Lily Breese and Mya Hamilton are raising money for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, a charity chosen by Maddie’s and Libby’s parents, Verity and Jason.
Lily and Mya say, “On the 25th July 2023, our worlds were turned upside down as we learned of the tragic deaths of Maddie and Libby North, sisters who died aged just 17 and 21.
“The girls were vibrant, kind and had so much energy to give to the world. We were both close friends with the girls. They had so much energy and were wild at heart, so we wanted to do something to reflect this side of their personalities.
“That’s why, on the 15th June, we are skydiving 10,000ft to raise funds for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. Please dig deep and give what you can for a very worthy cause, in memory of two very loved girls.”
Lily and Mya have set a fundraising target of £1,000 and, at the time of writing, the friends have already raised £870. Sisters Maddie, aged 21, and Libby, aged 17, previously attended Frome College. Mya says she initially met Maddie through working together at Sainsbury’s and they used to spend time together outside of work, which is where Mya developed a close friendship with Libby.
Lily says that she first met Maddie at school, having attended the same primary and middle school, as well as Frome College.
She added, “However, it was during our time together at Bath Spa University that our friendship really blossomed; we spent a lot of time together during our second and third year, commuting to campus together and even sharing a placement experience at Beckington First School (we were studying primary and early years education).”
