FAIR Frome’s ‘Fair Food’ cafe is encouraging local people to come along and make the most of the cheap home-cooked food on offer.
The Fair Food initiative at the Bridge Cafe continues to offer very low cost hot food between 12pm and 2pm every Tuesday.
The project is delivered by Sue Hidvegi of Improve with Food alongside Fair Frome, and sponsored by Knightstone Housing.
Wendy Miller-Williams of Fair Frome said, “We have been able to add a couple of elements to the popular Tuesday session and are grateful to both Knightstone Housing for sponsoring the next three months of Fair Food, and to the Rotary Club of Frome for funding meal vouchers that are available through local support agencies – Mendip CAB, YMCA Routes, the Bridge Centre and Key Centre.
“The vouchers are specifically for people undergoing periods of financial crisis and will enable them to have a free hot meal and hot drink.
“As a result of consulting residents of the neighbourhood, we shall be introducing a few social activities between 1.30pm and 2.30pm each Tuesday.
“The initial one will be a reading group – so anyone interested, can come to have a chat about it at the Bridge Cafe on Tuesday 7th February at 1.30 pm.
“On 21st February and 21st March there will be a knitting & crochet drop-in at 1.30 pm. There’s Cribb on offer on the alternate Tuesdays.
“On 14th February at 1pm, please join us for a chat about the project and free refreshments.”
