You-th Space, the Frome-based free counselling service for young people aged between 15 and 18, run by Wessex Counselling & Psychotherapy, has been successful in securing a grant from Children in Need to support the scheme for the next three years.
The group says, “The first tranche of money has been received. The scheme, which was launched three years ago, has proved very valuable for young people in the local area, who would otherwise have been unable to easily access the help and support they needed. We have a dedicated team of people who work on the project and thanks to the Children in Need grant, we have been able to expand the number of counselling sessions we can offer.
“We would like to express our thanks to all those who have supported us and are supporting us. The scheme was initially funded by the Big Lottery, together with grants from local donors including the Frome Rotary Club, The Lions and the Culverhill Co-operative.
“We are actively fundraising to secure the future of this service. Please contact us for further details if you would like to become involved in this.
