THREE lucky people each received some Easter treats after they were picked as winners in a charity raffle organised by a Frome opticians.
Specsavers in the Westway Centre held the raffle in aid of Somerset Sight, raising £57 with prizes including Easter eggs and cuddly toy rabbits.
“Our customers were very generous in their support, so a big thank you to everyone that took part,’ says store director, Richard Goring. ‘Somerset Sight does some really important work to help visually impaired people, and we were keen to help, as well as getting into the Easter spirit.”
The team at Somerset Sight provides support at the point of a sight loss diagnosis and beyond. There are estimated to be 19,000 people living with a visual impairment in the county. At least one in five of those people never leave their home alone.
The charity reaches out to visually-impaired people across the county with a range of services and activities. The aim is to provide services, training and leisure activities that will help maintain independence and improve the quality of life for anyone who is affected by sight loss.
