With just days to go until their annual free Christmas concert, the young singers in Frome Youth Choir are busy rehearsing their new repertoire of festive songs.
The free concert is on Saturday 7th December at 5pm in Christ Church in Frome and is guaranteed to get everyone into the Christmas spirit.
It will feature seasonal songs from around the world, including ‘The Man with the Bag’, ‘Christmas Samba’, ‘Noel Nouvelet’ and ‘El Noi de la Mare’.
Frome Youth Choir is for young people from Frome and surrounding areas aged 6-14 years. It is run by musical director, Steph Collishaw, who has been a music teacher in and around Frome for over 20 years.
She said, “Our bright lights are looking forward to shining at our annual Christmas concert on Saturday 7th December. And this year we are delighted that Frome Town Band will be accompanying us on some of the carols. Lots of new children joined us this term, so please come along to show them your support when they sing in public for the first time.
“It’s a great way to get into the Christmas spirit, particularly as there will be a raffle for a bumper Christmas hamper and mince pies and mulled wine on sale after the concert.
