THE Frome International Climate Film Festival, ‘The Climates’, is launching an international climate music competition with the Frome Music Network.
Musicians have been asked to create a song about the climate and environment but with a festive twist. The event is free to enter with the opportunity to win awards and cash prizes for the winners. Entries are open now and close at the end of November.

Organisers say, “The aim of the competition this year is to try to find those aspiring artists and established artists and to challenge them to create a song about the Climate, the Environment with a Festive twist as it is the time to be jolly. We certainly do need some cheer as 2022 is and continues to be tough for all.
“We hope to live stream and to have those who entered on stage for the Awards Day in Frome in December. We also plan to ask the public to vote for the winners.”
Creator of the Frome International Climate Film Festival and the Climate Film Collective – Lets Get Visual, James Godman, says, “This is really exciting as we are bringing the voice of The Climate and The Environment to the wider public through music with the Climates@Christmas.
“It is a time of reflection and celebrations during the festival period and we aim to inspire new and exciting musicians to tell us about their passion related to the environment and climates. All free with prizes/awards, sponsors welcome and we are still looking for the right venue in Frome.”
