Frome community circuit training has moved to Epicocity Fitness on Manor Road from Friday 22nd September.
Lucy McMahon, who started the group in 2015, says, “We started our circuit training group at the Key Centre in September 2015 and have had two happy years there.
“Since the MCA (Friends of the Mount, Marston and Keyford) moved out of the centre in the spring, we’ve been hosted by Somerset County Council, who now run the building. It’s been great, but we’ve now been offered a free space to run the group by Jo Beale of Epicocity Fitness so we’re starting our third year at an amazing new venue, thanks to Jo’s generosity!
“Apart from the new setting, the group remains the same; it’s not a traditional exercise class and no-one runs it – we’re just a group of people who come together to keep fit and raise money for a great cause.
“It’s important that people are aware that we’re group-led rather than a formal class and that they’re in reasonable health to take part, but actually circuits is a great way for people of all ages and fitness levels to exercise, as you can tailor your workout to yourself.
“I attended a group like this in Bristol which ranged from seasoned marathon runners right down to, well, me, and we were able to get fit in the same friendly, low-pressure environment. We ask for a donation of £2.50 per person so we can continue to support the MCA, but do come, donate what you can and find out what we’re about!”
Frome community circuit training runs on Fridays from 7.45pm to 8.45pm at Epicocity Fitness, Manor Road, BA11 4BN. See facebook.com/fromecommunity circuits/ for more information.
