Frome Town Council (FTC) and the Wild Bunch are joining in with Frome Kindness Festival’s ‘Kindness to the Planet Day’ on Thursday 21st March. Volunteers are encouraged to join council staff for a litter pick at Boyle Cross, during the Great British Spring Clean, and the 21st March Wild Bunch meeting at The Dippy will focus on nature connection and how people can get involved with the Community Wildlife Mapping Project, developing an awareness of the health of the local environment and providing useful data.
On Friday 22nd February, members of the FIND (Family Information Network Directory) will be staffing the Kindness Bank café in the old HSBC building on the corner of Cheap Street, chatting with visitors and sharing information about the many services, groups and activities for children, young people and families in the area.
Cllr Mark Dorrington said: “Please join the litter pick on 21st March – litter-picking is a simple action that anyone can do to make an immediate and visible difference to their area. The more of us there are, the bigger and better the impact. We’ll have refreshments and equipment; all you need is clothing suitable for the weather and the activity.”
Melody Hunter Evans, children and young people’s project officer at Frome Town Council said ‘The FIND directory was created because we know that a vital ingredient of a strong, resilient community is connecting communities and making sure people know about the services and groups available to them. The team at The Good Heart, hosts of the Kindness Festival, do such fantastic work fostering positive connections all year round. We’re so pleased to be supporting the Kindness Bank café for this year’s festival, connecting people with support and sharing information about volunteering opportunities.
