ORGANISERS of the Climate Film Festival are already planning for The Climates 2023 following the success of the inaugural film festival. To support this, they have created the Climate Film Collective, an inclusive WhatsApp group, where exciting events will be put on in the build-up to May 2023.
The group say they are developing a programme of opportunities/ activities across four themed areas which are fun, challenging, and inspiring, showing what can be achieved with a shared vision, support, belief and an open heart. If you would like to be involved in one or many of the four areas (film, music, knowledge exchange, support and change) to promote change, then please do join up.
The group will also meet monthly in person to share, discuss, drink, plan activities and to support each other, plus to show films – anyone can join, and all are welcome.
James Godman, director of the festival said, “This is a green cultural revolution which needs to happen in this and future generations through open and supportive engagements without an agenda.
“We are here to help, and it is all free help, and with current and future generations at our heart, we will strive to deliver the change we need to save our future through the voice of film/media, music and through supporting and sharing knowledge with others.
“Another key element of our work is also to promote pathways helping people, businesses and groups to find their way to a greener future through connecting and supporting. Having a means and the support to change helps our mental health and well-being we believe.
“The Climate Film Collective, like the festival, is here to promote and support the creativity in our community and to help promote their great work. We recently had a film showing at Rode School, we showcased the films from the Climate Film Festival back in May and filming for the Nurdle Lady – Claire Vowell, a wonderful teacher and passionate lady fighting plastic pollution; her books are also out now in Frome.”
The Climate Film Collective will continue the work of the festival tirelessly throughout the year. Get in touch to join the WhatsApp group or meet in person on the last Monday in every month at the Archangel in Frome, 8pm to 10pm all are welcome.
