Last year, the Trinity Community Group closed Selwood Road for an afternoon and hosted a street party. Following the success of this, Frome Town Council are supporting residents who wish to hold similar community events; whether this is a street party, a fete or a children’s playing out day.
Trinity Community Group said that last year’s event was “a wonderful community event that brought together neighbours and allowed the children to play out safely.”
It can take time and some planning to hold such events, so Frome Town Council are organising a free training session to help you do just that, making the process as simple as possible. The training is open to anyone who is interested in closing their own street or helping others to do the same.
Organisers say, “Come along and talk to people that have closed their street, get their top tips, and how Frome Town Council can help.”
The training is on Monday 2nd March at Frome Town Hall from 6.30-8.30pm. Secure your free place by booking online at: www. frometowncouncil. gov.uk/ close-your-street/
