IT was a full house at Frome College’s Christmas Carol Concert in St John’s Church on Monday 18th December.
The college says, “It is always a great pleasure to welcome so many people from the community, our students and families, and friends of Frome College to our lovely festive Carol Concert at St John’s Church.
“It has been another very busy term at Frome College and we feel privileged to work regularly with such highly talented young people; some are established musicians and others have only recently begun their musical journey. The concert involves over 80 students and guests – heartfelt thanks and congratulations go out to them all on another outstanding event!
“Reverend Colin Alsbury, welcomed the congregation and reminded everyone of the meaning of Christmas. During the evening, there were readings, a candle procession with the Frome College Choir, performances by our orchestra, Shotgun Marimba, Ukestra, Brass Ensemble, fabulous solo performances and traditional congregational carols.
“We do hope, whilst celebrating and being entertained by fine music together, everyone felt in the Christmas mood. At the end of the concert mince pies and refreshments were provided by the college, giving the congregation an opportunity to congratulate the performers. The retiring collection this year, was split between the Dorothy House charity, and the college music department, to enable us to be able to put on more events like this.
“Our thanks go to Liam McPherson in Year 12 for the photography at the event.”
