A LOCAL ceramic artist is inviting people to visit her exhibition and have a go at creating something themselves in her studio, as part of Somerset Open Studios this month.
Sarah Hitchens will be in Black Swan Arts from 12th September to 8th October, (Tuesdays to Saturdays 10am – 4.30pm daily, plus Sunday 2nd October) and is encouraging newcomers to have a go.
Sarah said, “I want people to come down and get their hands dirty making their own imperfectly perfect works of art – for free!
“I will be exhibiting my work and demonstrating my making process over the next month, and I want to offer visitors the opportunity to ‘play’: making work in air-drying clay and encouraging people to touch the smaller works on show and rearrange them on the shelves.
“Bring yourselves and an open mind and discover what you can create.”
Sarah welcomes visitors of all ages to the pop-up studio to watch her at work and make their own small ceramic works – no rules, no judgment.
