With only a couple of weeks left before Frome Window Wanderland will be lighting up our streets for the third year (28th Feb – 2nd March), there are lots of opportunities to join in at one of their free workshops.
Event organiser Lisa Glass says, “There is a final evening session for adults on 13th Feb and five daytime workshops over half term, giving children and families an opportunity to design and make colourful window decorations to take home and display for the event:
• Thursday 13th Feb 7-9pm Black Swan Arts Café (over 18s BYO)
“Come and meet other window-makers and create at this last drop-in evening session
• Saturday 15th Feb 10am-12pm Trinity Church Hall
• Monday 17th Feb 10am-12pm Cheese & Grain (in assoc. with Frome Children’s Festival)
• Wednesday 19th Feb 10am-1pm Christchurch First School (in assoc. with Frome Children’s Festival, includes lunch by Fair Frome)
• Friday 21st Feb 2-4pm Frome Town Hall
• Saturday 22nd Feb 10am-12pm Silhouette Workshop at Frome Library
“Come and plan, draw and make something for your own window (remember to bring window measurements and any materials you may have!), or maybe collaborate on something. There will be lots of materials available but you can purchase anything else you may need from PostScript on Stony Street.
“We are hoping this year’s event is going to be the biggest yet, and that we can beat the 220 windows that took part last year! That would be amazing.
“We would really like to thank our sponsors and supporters of the 2020 event – Frome Town Council for our Community Grant, Persimmon Homes for making us a Community Champion, and local businesses Cooper & Tanner, The Rose Garden and Ames Kent for their sponsorship. And of course all the wonderful people of Frome who get involved and want to take part.”
You can still sign up to take part and create a window display, just go to www.windowwanderland. com/event/frome-2020. You won’t now be included on the printed map, but you will be registered and show on the online map.
