COMING up at Rook Lane Arts Chapel this June.
Saturday 24th-29th June: The Future of Creativity.
The students from Frome Community College in their final year are showcasing their outcomes as well as sketchbook work through a variety of media, through painting, sculpture, photography and more. The exhibition celebrates the strength and depth of the students’ portfolios involved. A lot of these students are going on to further their careers in the creative industry through various art institutions. Alongside Rook Lane and NVB Architects, these driven young individuals have co-ordinated the exhibition themselves.
The exhibition is open daily from 10am-3pm.
Tuesday 27th June: As You Like It, The HandleBards.
Join the HandleBards’ all-female troupe in the lovely Rook Lane Chapel for a bicycle-powered production of Shakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’ like no other.
And what’s the play about? Well, Rosalind and Orlando have been forced into exile in the Forest of Arden. As lovers, they become entangled in a bizarre game of lust, love and mistaken identity.
In usual HandleBards style, expect riotous amounts of energy, a fair old whack of chaos, and a great deal of laughter.
Doors open at 6pm, so why not bring a picnic and come and enjoy the beautiful surroundings before the show?
Chairs, picnics, blankets and any other low level accessories are welcome. In case of rain, the performance will move indoors. Admission, £12-15. Tickets will be available on the day at £17.Tickets are non-changeable and non-refundable.
