LOCAL community charity group, ‘Songs for the Memory’ is a free singing group for local residents with dementia/memory loss.
The group meets weekly every Wednesday from 2-3.30pm at Frome Hospital, upstairs at the Moxon Suite. Together, you enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, social interaction and singing.
Debby Webster, secretary for Songs for the Memory said, “We have growing membership and a fabulous teacher, volunteers and a determined committee to ensure this valuable group has a future here in Frome.
“We have been going now for just seven months and in this time we have been very fortunate to get sponsorship/funding support from John Wainwright & Co and Frome Town Council. We also have just received £500 from Centre Parcs Community Fund.
“We would really like to thank all our sponsors as it has really given us a huge boost and secured us into our second year and also gain some publicity and raise awareness of the benefits of singing for people with dementia.”
