ROOK Lane Arts Chapel on Bath Street is offering a whole host of varied entertainment throughout November.
On Sunday 1st November, Rook Lane Film Night presents ‘Happy Together – CHUN GWONG CHA SIT’ directed by Wong Kar Wai in 1997 in Hong Kong.
This is Wong’s sumptuous study of two men who travel to Buenos Aires in a desperate and doomed attempt to mend their disintegrating relationship.
The New York Times said, “Stylistically brash, young at heart and pulsing with life, captures the restless open-to-everything spirit of youth with a piercing sadness.”
The running time is 96 mins and the film is subtitled. Doors open at 6.30pm, film starts at 7.30pm. Admission costs £7 which includes refreshments. For more information and booking call 01373 464262.
Then on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th November, Rook Lane presents Jonathan Kay ‘Getting Out of the Audience’ Fooling Workshop.
Getting out of the audience is an introductory workshop where you can ‘dip your toes into the water’ and find out what it means to Fool on a stage.
Once tasted it draws you in to discover a huge world, which you get to play in, create in and find your Fool in.
The workshop runs from 10am – 6pm on both days and costs £125/£100 for a weekend workshop. Concessions are available.

Mr Rook’s Speak Easy presents ‘Songlines of Snowdonia: Tapping the Mythic Mains’ by Eric Maddern on Thursday 19th November.
Snowdonia has long been a centre of magic and spiritual power. It was the hinterland of the ancient Druids.
Some of the oldest surviving stories of Britain arose there, about the Enchantment of Bran, the Woman of Flowers, the Quest for Mabon, the Cauldron of Inspiration, Merlin and the Dragons.
Eric will take you on a walk through this mystical landscape and breathe life into these tales in an inspiring and original way.

On Friday 27th, RookLane Arts Chapel holds its ‘Extravaganza Night’ – Light Up Rook Lane! An evening of projections on the beautiful façade of Rook Lane. From 4.30pm onwards, admission is free.
Also, don’t miss ‘Kepow….The Seven Ages of Man’ on Friday 27th November. The Seven Ages seeks to explore two of the most important questions in life: why am I here? What’s important in my life? Whilst simultaneously making you laugh. Suitable for 6-106 year olds. Doors open at 7.30pm and the performance starts at 8pm. Admission is £10/£7 concessions available.
