A COMMUNITY tree planting day, hosted by Frome Town Council, will be held at the Showfield play park next month to help the town ranger plant 420 saplings.
The event will be held on Sunday 26th November from 10.00am – 4.30pm.
The new native hedge tree saplings will be planted around the play field with the aim of creating a biodiversity hedge, providing a natural habitat and food source for Frome’s wildlife.
Volunteers are advised to bring their own gloves and a spade if available. But the town council will have spares available for those that don’t.
A Frome Town Council representative said, “Please come in warm clothes and bring refreshments to keep you going through the day. If you can only come for part of the tree planting day then please do.
“You are welcome to bring friends, family and neighbours to help plant the tree saplings too.
“Please can those joining the community tree plant day on Sunday 26th November email Chris Stringer on StringerC @frometowncouncil.gov.uk so we know numbers expected on the day.”
