The Marsden family from Frome won two free tickets to Yeovilton Air Day last month, in Frome FM’s ‘Guess the Theme Tune’ competition.
The Royal Naval Air Station (RNAS) put on another stunning day of air action with flying displays from all over the world, military bands, car displays and ground demonstrations. The competition winners had the time of their lives and you can hear their interview and the show, presented from the air day if you listen to the 24th June edition of Westcott’s World with Jeremy Westcott on the Frome FM website, anytime on the frome.fm website.
The station also welcomes Gareth Wasp, auctioneer and antiques valuer from Cooper and Tanner, who starts his own monthly show in August. Gareth will be talking about the fascinating and sometimes bizarre things that show up at auctions; what to look for when collecting and he’ll be doing some on-air valuations as well! All his shows will be available live on Frome FM, or via the website as a podcast. Transmission dates and repeats to be announced.
Alongside the high-profile Extinction Rebellion protests in and around the UK this year, Frome-based Eco-warrior and radio producer, Matt Mellen, continues ‘EcoHustler’ – the radio supplement to his ecological news website, ecohustler.com. Every other Sunday starting August 4th at 2pm, Matt brings us a show that examines our most pressing environmental issues and will feature interviews and stories from some of the leading environmentalists and activists in the country. The show is repeated on Tuesday afternoons at 3pm. Alternating with this show is ‘Fussel on Farming’. Local farmer and entrepreneur Andy Fussell talks about farming today, wildlife and of course Brexit.
Westcott’s World, weekly on Wednesdays at 1200 and 6pm, Ecohustler, presented by Matt Mellen, and Fussell on Farming, presented by Andy Fussell – three more reasons to listen to Frome FM on 96.6fm or listen again on www.frome.fm.
