Somerset Conservatives have announced their candidates that will contest the seats in the Somerton and Frome constituency area in the forthcoming County Council elections.
The Conservatives are standing on a platform of low council tax, high investment into Somerset and quality services. They have already announced ambitious plans for the county and the area which include a new university; more housing for local people; working with partners to regenerate Frome; dualling the A303; seeking further investment to prevent flooding throughout the area; and investing more in education, adult and childrens social care.
The Conservative candidates for the Frome area are: Eve Berry (Frome East), Linda Oliver (Frome North) Jo Beale (Frome West), and Phillip Ham (Mendip Central and East).
The party says, “Eve Berry (Frome East) is a well known Mendip District Councillor. She had a long career in banking and executive sales and, now semi-retired, is Treasurer of Mendip Community Speed Watch, a police volunteer and committee member of Frome In Bloom.
“Linda Oliver (Frome North) has a track record of getting things done at local, district and county levels. She works hard to promote local issues and stand up for what matters to local people.
“Jo Beale (Frome West) is a well known Frome businesswoman, running an independent fitness studio on Manor Road. She is also currently sitting as a Mendip District Councillor.
“Phillip Ham (Mendip Central and East). Phillip is a local farmer, District and your current Councillor for Mendip Central and East.
“Over the last eight years the Conservatives are proud to have frozen council tax for six years, delay with the crippling Lib Dem £350 million debt and invested more money than ever in our Adults and Childrens Social Services.”
The elections are being held on the 4th May 2017.
