Corsley Festival Choir will present a varied programme at their forthcoming concert on Sunday 14th May.
Fauré’s Requiem is one of the most moving and beautiful pieces of classical music ever written, and is always a popular favourite with choirs and audiences. In complete contrast the next piece is Haydn’s Te Deum. This short piece is full of fantastic melody and moves at a cracking pace. The second half of the concert is extracts from Mozart Requiem, with music both dramatic and moving and this piece will be familiar to many concert goers.
The choir have been rehearsing since January and will be supported by a full orchestra, organist on the church organ, and soloists.
Tickets can be booked in advance by telephoning Jenny Rutty on 01373 832232 or alternatively on the door on the night.
There will be an outside bar in the church grounds which opens at 7pm. The concert performance starts promptly at 7.30pm.
