Over the next few weeks, the town will host top acts at the Cheese and Grain including two-time Mercury Prize nominees Everything Everything, UK drum and bass pioneer Shy FX and award-winning comedian Milton Jones.
Milton Jones, who has appeared on Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo, and Radio 4, will be performing an evening of stand-up comedy on Thursday 12th December. He is best-known for delivering one-liner jokes involving puns in a deadpan tone, all whilst wearing bright and vibrant shirts.
This will be followed by a show on Tuesday 17th December, by the critically acclaimed Everything Everything, who will be returning to the town after their performance at the Cheese and Grain in 2022.
Shortlisted twice for the Mercury Prize and nominated five times for the Ivor Novello awards for songwriting and composing, the four-piece band have recently released their sixth consecutive UK Top 10 album, Mountainhead.
A single from this album ‘Cold Reactor,’ secured its
place as one of their biggest streaming and airplay hits with support from Radio 1 and 6 Music.
A few days later, on Friday 20th December, top DJ and producer Shy FX, alongside MC Rage, will headline the annual Gorilla Tactics Christmas party, which is returning to the Cheese and Grain.
Shy FX, also known as Andre Williams, is one of the most influential British producers of the last 25 years. He is best known for his jungle anthem, Original Nuttah and his recent collaborations with household names such as Lily Allen.
