A VIDEO of a Frome couple dressed as the Queen and Prince Charles has been watched over 24,000 times after they were filmed dancing on Catherine Hill on Saturday.
The impromptu performance came as shopkeepers on the hill joined people across the country celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday.
Frome residents Ginny Adams and Nelly Fowler, of local comedy street performance company Rare Species, spent the afternoon strutting their stuff and performing royal duties around the town centre.
Local photographer Ciara Poot said, “Traders on Catherine Hill threw a right royal knees up on Saturday!
“Her Majesty and Prince Charles were seen all about town, knighting and interacting with the people as they went. They also presented prizes (kindly donated by the Catherine Hill traders) for the best dressed Queens and Kings.
“Following their royal duties they then let their hair down and danced, twerked and moon-danced to the sounds of Molly Ross, Dr Hooka, Donna Somerset, and Sara Vian & Guts Band.
“Big thanks to Ginny and Nelly of Rare Species who made us all laugh so much! Truly, hilariously entertaining stuff. Thank you, Frome for another great community spirited event.
“Thanks to all for the entertainment, thanks to Rik at Milk Street Brewery, Jamie Remington of Delaluna, and to Frome Town Council for their sponsorship and support and of course to all the organisers for making this day happen.”
The video can be watched on YouTube and is named ‘Right Royal Rave’.
