Former Frome Community College student, Zoe Harding, will be hosting her first solo exhibition titled ‘Calming the chaos’ at Rook Lane Chapel from Tuesday 12th December until Thursday 21st December.
There will be also be a special preview evening held on Monday 11th December from 6pm until 9pm and everyone is invited to attend.
About her exhibition Zoe said, “Nature’s uncontrollable power over our surrounding world and how it affects the conditions that an environment presents, is a focus that is heavily present throughout my explorations.
“Through my art I wish to capture how the natural weather impacts the sea, as well as investigating the balance between the light and dark in the creation of an atmosphere. My work demonstrates the effect of the weather and waves, allowing me to capture the movements which are significant in composing the expression underlying a seascape.
“I wanted to present how the changing effects of light evokes relative emotional responses, through the creation of a series that depicts a single subject under different natural conditions. As no two experiences of a place are ever the same, this intrigued me to explore how a certain atmosphere appears to be constantly changing due to the unpredictability of the weather which nature is dependent upon. All the artwork on display is for sale and they would make perfect gifts for Christmas.”
The exhibition is open weekdays, 10am to 3pm. More details can be found at www.rook lane.org.uk
